Today, in the spotlight is Wemimo Omotosho, a wife, mum, research scientist by profession and creative director of ToshCreations.

Tell us about you and your family

I’ve been married for 5 years and we have 2 children. A boy aged 4 years and a 6 month old baby girl. I live in Upminster, Essex, United Kingdom.

What do you do for a living?

I’m a research scientist but I’ve moved away from the lab and currently work as a senior medical writer. 

I also run ToshCreations where I handcraft unique and beautiful baby clothes bouquets and clothing cupcakes as gifts for new mums and babies. The bouquets and cupcakes come in a range of sizes, are stylishly finished and filled with essential baby clothing such as bodysuits, mittens, hats, bibs, socks and muslin cloths. They are accompanied with a greeting card that can be personalised with your choice of message or the message can be printed on the vase itself.

As a parent myself, I know the importance of quality clothing for our precious little ones and as such all the clothes are sourced from leading baby brands. These gifts are not only beautiful but are very practical as the clothes can simply be unravelled for baby to wear (the artificial flowers and foliage used are colourfast and do not damage the clothing). They also make a lasting keepsake and parents often tell me that they’d rather keep them on display 🙂

What is working well in your life, business or career?

I’ve just been accepted as a partner company by the exclusive online marketplace Gift Wrapped and Gorgeous . This is very exciting for me as it will mean greater exposure for ToshCreations:)

How do you juggle it all? Share three of your best tips with us.

1. God is my strength. When I get overwhelmed (which tends to happen a lot now that I have 2 littles) or even before I do, I pray. Even just a quick, “Lord help me. Give me strength to cope with such and such today” can work wonders.

2. Lists, lists, lists! I’m a great fan of list making. I write a to-do list that I refer to and amend as necessary everyday. I use the iBloom planner, it’s a great resource but even just good old pen and paper will do or a notepad on my phone.

3. Regular downtime. I’ve learnt the hard way that I need regular “me time”. Otherwise “cranky Wemi” shows up and nobody wants that. Lol. I love the spa and so I try (emphasis on “try”) to book regular massage sessions – thank God for cheap deals on Groupon. Also, at the end of a particularly hectic day whenever possible (not always possible), after everyone is in bed, I take a couple of hours to myself and watch my favourite shows (no Peppa Pig allowed) or read a book, etc. just to unwind

How has been a member of the Work Less, Live More Inner Circle helped you in your Super Working Mum journey?

It’s great to be a part of a community of like-minded Christian women. You can find help/info for almost anything in the group or at least get pointed in the right direction. What I’ve enjoyed the most though is learning that there are other women/mums going through the same things I am – nothing is peculiar to me. It’s a great support. You can learn from other people’s experiences. The masterclasses are also awesome.
