1. Please tell us about yourself?

Unoma NwankworMy name is Unoma Nwankwor (nee Osiegbu). My proudest titles are wife to a wonderful man and mom to two beautiful kids. I am from Issele-Uku in Delta State, Nigeria. I am a serious homebody, loving to spend time with the family, watching movies and reading.

2. How many children do you have? How old are they?

I have two beautiful kids. Everybody says that right—beautiful? Lol.  I have a five year old daughter and a three year old son.

3.  What do you do for a living?

I am a Recovery Manager for a multi-national company in Atlanta, Georgia and I also own a Christian entertainment company with my husband called KevStel Group

4.  How do you juggle a full time job, writing and family?

It’s not an easy feat. But by the grace of God I am what I am. I’m a night owl; guess having a day job has forced me to be one. I write at night when the family is asleep or early Saturday before they wake. When the family is awake, in between chores, I play with the kids or just gist with hubby.

I try to make time so no part gets neglected. It’s hard but my mantra is I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. My husband is a huge support. While filming and directing his movies, he takes a break to help out with the kids when I have writing deadlines or out of town conferences.

5. Do you or did you ever feel like you are/were missing out on your children’s lives while you work?

Yes.

6. How do/did you deal with that?

With the help of prayer, I let myself off the hook. God is their protector and guide, I’m just their custodian so I do what I can and leave the rest to Him. I try to make the best out of all the time I have with them. With them being in school it’s gotten much easier since they have their own friends.

7. What discipline methods do you use with your children at home?

The method I use depends on the behavior. I discipline accordingly.

8. Please tell us about your new book?

My new book is titled An Unexpected Blessing. The issue of singledom amongst ladies of a certain age is huge in our culture is huge. It is almost a crime for a lady of a certain age not to be married. People say things like she is ‘ripe’ for marriage. Then there is the expectation of who she should marry, where he should come from the list goes on.

An Unexpected Blessing explores Feranmi’s –a Nigerian in diaspora—elaborate plan to deceive her visiting parents into believing  she is in a committed relationship so they would stop harassing her life. She thought she had it all figured out but as you know God doesn’t always give us what we want but what we need.

It’s a story of love, forgiveness and being open to God’s plan in your life.

An unexpected blessing

9. Congratulations! Where can your book be purchased?

10. What skills do you think every working mum should have?

The ability to multi task is crucial for survival. Once she can do that everything else is a piece of cake.

11. What does the term super working mum mean to you?

A mom who is well rounded in everything she does. She has the ability to remain sane, while juggling the running of a home, a job, a passion/ministry.  A mom who takes care of herself so she can take care of others. That’s a Super Working Mom!!
