Our super working mum for April is Abimbola Dare. I “met” Abimbola through her blog several years ago.  I read her blog religiously then as I like her writing style and her posts were so funny! She always had one humurous story to share with us.

In 2011, she published her first book! Continue reading to find out more about Abimbola Dare as a super working mum and writer!

Super Working Mum

1) Please tell us about you?

Super Working Mum Abimbola DareMy name is Abimbola Dare. I am a God loving Nigerian woman who grew up in Nigeria but now lives in the UK with my family.

2) How many children do you have?

One

3) What do you do for a living?

I work as a project manager in a publishing firm and I own my own Christian fiction publishing business. I am also a writer (in my spare time). Smile.

4) Tell us about your book- The Small Print

The Small Print is the story of three individuals who must battle insurmountable challenges- including adultery, deciet, lies and obsession- on a journey across two continents- to discover that it is in the midst of despair, confusion and desperation that God’s unconditional; all- consuming love shines the brightest.

It deals with some issues people face in marriages; how we deal with those issues as Christians and non-Christian and the consequences of our actions. It also discusses trust, repentance and forgiveness. It’s a good book-you should read it. 🙂

5) Do you experience “working mum” guilt? If so how do you deal with it?

When I first had my daughter, I did. I was constantly worrying about what kind of mother I was as I stepped out of the house to go to work.

Things got easier when she started nursery and began to interact with other children. She loves being at school now and I worry less about feeling guilty and consider ways to ensure we spend quality time together.

6) How do you juggle work, writing and family?

One word: Grace. God gives me grace!. I write at night and on weekends, I work monday to friday, and around all of that is my very understanding and supportive family. My husband is very supportive and I am thankful for that.

7) What does the term super working mum mean to you?

An all-rounder mum- whether in full time employment or a house wife (housework is harder than being in the office in my opinion). Every woman out there who is multitasking to raise a family and keep a house sane- that is a super working mum.

8) Please share with us your best time saving tips as a working mum?

I multi-think, multi-write ( working on 2-3 novels at the same time), multi-cook, multi-dress ( i.e- dress my self and daughter at the same time). I never do one thing at a time. That saves me time (somehow once I emerge from all the chaos)
